To The Tardis Time Lord
I have been meaning to write about snap shots in my life for a long time. Thinking about time and years as they passed makes me feel like I missed many moments of importance and would give anything to get those moments back. Hence my tardis.
I don't promise to write about these in order or even to write about them at all. The Doctor doesn't travel in only one direction in time and neither will I.
Here are the important years: 1977, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1991, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007

1983
This post essentially was inspired by FranIam a few months ago but I never actually wrote it. I am going to give you my father's unwritten obituary. I have carried this inside me for over twenty years including during counseling back in 2001.Mathman's father (MF) died in the hospital on April 1st, 1983. MF was hospitalized for pneumonia but died suddenly from an aortic aneurysm due to scar tissue from two previous heart attacks.
MF will subsequently be worshipped by Mathman's siblings and friends which in turn will cause difficulty with Mathman's relationships with his mother, friends and siblings. His siblings will go on to blindly worship the body of their father's work as a band director and teacher which, in fact, was outstanding.
Mathman will go on to emulate his father in his own way eventually becoming a department chair, like his father, and a very well thought of teacher. On the other hand, Mathman has doubts about his father's perceived greatness. Mathman regrets not having many conversations with his father concerning relationships, the Army during World War II, his mother and teaching.
At the time of MF's death, Mathman prolonged a relationship with his girlfriend because he had received such an emotional blow. Said relationship ended in 1985 when Mathman finally found his way out. Similar relationship issues will persist into the future.

5 variables:
Oh Mathman- you inspired me and then I back to you. And so it goes.
What a great post and an idea about time.
Thank you.
A very interesting idea and a great post is the result.
I have to say, though you know this, I really wish I'd met your dad. He's a legend of sorts because I know how your family feels about him, but also because before I ever met you, I'd heard about what a great man your dad was from Sean.
Anyway, I love this post idea. I'll be interested to see what you write about those other years. Some I can guess the general topic, of course.....
Thanks for the nice comments. As George Costanza said after a particularly good one liner..."I'm outa here."
... OK. Maybe not.
an out of order chronology
not very mathematical
8-)
nice story.........i look forward to another year
