Beware The Ides Of March
Hail and RainThis afternoon Dcup told be me to be quiet. She moved to the window, opened it and we both clearly heard the warning sirens. We gathered the children, a few things and went down to our basement.
On the TV we saw our town and neighborhood on the radar and the maps. Then power went out. A friend from work called me and let me listened to the TV and DCup called her weather watching dad.
Then we saw the sky go dark and green. We heard that sound, like a freight train or constant thunder but it was muffled. At the time we did not know that a tornado was moving through our town about a mile away.
A close call to be sure but we are OK but still have no power. I am sitting in my car charging my computer connected to the Internet via cell Internet card. We hope are neighbors are OK and safe.

Green sky and freight train sound = scary bad.
Glad to hear you are all safe.
What o'tim said.
Glad you guys are ok, sending you all my good thoughts.
We had a close call last Spring and thankfully only lost a gutter. Being a transplant to the Midwest from SoCal, I have a melodramatic freak-out every time there's a tornado warning anywhere in our vicinity. I'll take earthquakes over tornadoes any day.
Anyway, I'm very glad that your family and home are safe and sound.
Oh gosh, I did not realize you were so close to it all. (I really need to finally get out a map and see where everyone is over there in the mid-east US.) I lived for a time in Nebraska as a child and saw a tornado out a window once. I am SOSOSOSOSO glad you guys are OK.
Jeebus, close call..too close I think.
Glad you are all ok.Is your power back on yet?
O'tim, Randal, and Fran I am: Thanks!
Suzi - growing up in the Midwest we take T - warnings seriously. And they are scary.
Freida B - thanks, too.
Dusty - Jeebus had trouble yesterday as well. We saw a damaged church and a tree had damaged a cemetery.
Power finally came back late this afternoon.
I'm glad you guys are OK, I was thinking about you on Saturday.
