When I moved to Georgia Gasoline was $1.39

I am suffering from overload. Imagine that I am sitting in the kitchen, with Dcup on my right, Keith O is on the TV and the White Sox - Indians game is plugged into my left ear. In an ideal world I would be sitting in Chicago watching that ball game at US Cellular Field.

We all know the debate is on tonight but today one of my former students stopped by to say hello. Ole Miss gave him the day off. Also, I was "McCained" by a school board candidate. On Wednesday, I received an email telling me that a certain school board candidate would be visiting my class but Ms. Candidate was a no show.

Tonight, Dcup and I had a contest. I won and lost. She found out that she can drive her car 60.9 miles after the gas light turns. I only went 42.3 miles but I made it home. She didn't.

I discovered that my neighbors and friends will help out if they can. Old boy neighbor drove me to pick-up Dcup a few miles away, near her abandoned car. Later, I called coach Larry and he still had a can of gas. I waved my twenty his way and drove off to retrieve D's car. Clearly, my strategic reserves were not large enough.

Thank you for rescuing me tonight. I cannot believe this gas shortage mess.

I had no idea, until late yesterday, how acute the gas shortage was in your part of the country. Damn.

You guys should think about invading some northern states. We've got so much gas - well, I'll let you all finish with the punchline of your choice.

Randal beat me to it - I have leftover from my procedure yesterday. It won't run a car, though.

What is it with this gas shortage in the South? I mean, it's so fricking bizarre - and it feels like it's been artificially created. Nice of you to rescue your bride, too.

Hmm... I don't recall this gas shortage crap happening before Katrina, do you?

Does this mean it's time to start looting the fried chicken joints for their grease now?

So how much was the gas that you and D-Cup burned up? Like $8.00 a gallon? :)

Dcup - you are welcome.

Bubs - that's why I stayed home today.

Randal - If only I had enough gas to get there.

Diva - I have no idea.

o'tim - nope, me either.

Freida bee - if my car was bio- diesel capable.

Miss Healthypants - believe it or not gas is still about $4/gallon.

I had no idea you were in a shortage down there. Yikes! I am jumpy thinking about the mess that is coming- that you all are experiencing.
